
The Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Technology provides students with the critical skills and essential knowledge necessary to direct and control computerized information resources within diverse organizational settings.
This course of study teaches the design, planning and management of information infrastructures and the coordination of information resources. The curriculum covers the concepts upon which information systems are based and their application in designing solutions to real world problems.

To apply to the B.S. in Information Systems Technology program, students must submit an MDC application for admission and have an A.A. or A.S. degree from a regionally accredited institution, or have at least 60 college credits with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. Yes. The Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Technology is offered fully online through MDC Online. Please note that some courses may not be offered in the online modality for some semesters. Students can complete coursework, assignments, and program requirements remotely. MDC Online also provides online support services, making it possible to complete the full degree without coming to campus.
Completion time varies based on the number of credits a student transfers in and whether they study full-time or part-time. Students who enroll full-time after earning an A.A. or A.S. degree can typically complete the remaining upper-division coursework in about two years. Part-time students may take longer. MDC follows a standard academic calendar.
Yes. The IST program is offered fully online, allowing students to complete coursework on a schedule that fits their personal and professional commitments. Yes. Students enrolled in online bachelor’s programs, including the Information Systems Technology program, may be eligible for financial aid. MDC encourages all students to complete the FAFSA and explore available grants, scholarships, and aid options.
Yes. Students may transfer credits from a regionally accredited institution if the coursework aligns with MDC’s degree requirements. To enter the program, students must already have an A.A. or A.S. degree or a minimum of 60 eligible credits. Prerequisite courses must also be completed prior to admission.
