The basic fee a student pays for instruction at the College.
An additional fee charged to students who do not qualify for the in-state tuition rate.
Students under 24 years old are automatically considered “dependent” unless they can prove otherwise. Dependent students must provide their parent’s or legal guardian’s residency documentation.
Students age 24 and over are considered “independent” automatically, unless proven otherwise. Students who claim to be “independent” and are under the age of 24 must meet one of the following criteria and must provide the indicated documents:
Students who have been admitted or paroled into the United States and maintain lawful presence.
To qualify as a Florida resident for tuition purposes, you must provide evidence of United States (US) citizenship or be lawfully present in the US as stipulated by USCIS. Please check with the MDC campus Admissions and Registration Office for more specific information on the non-U.S. citizen categories that are eligible to be considered for Florida resident fees.
Students who are in the United States without being admitted or paroled, or who remain after their authorized stay has expired.
To get classified as In-State, you must:
