Miami Dade College (MDC) Learning Management System (LMS) SMS Notifications
The MDC LMS SMS Notifications program supports student success by providing enrolled students with:
All messages are sent on behalf of your instructors and LUCY (Live User Coach for You) within the Canvas LMS.
By opting in through the “Ask LUCY” chatbot within Canvas, you consent to receive SMS notifications from Miami Dade College related to your enrolled courses, academic activity, and instructor communication.
Messages are sent only to active students who are currently enrolled and have provided this consent.
Message frequency will vary depending on the number of enrolled courses, course activity, engagement level, and instructor communication.
Message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from MDC and to MDC from you. If you have questions about your text or data plan, please contact your wireless provider.
You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Simply text “STOP” to the number that sent you the message. After you send “STOP”, you will receive a confirmation message that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from the MDC LMS SMS Notifications program.
If you wish to re-subscribe, you may opt in again through LUCY in Canvas as you did previously.
